“The Culinary part of the title was a nod to my background in the culinary industry. My first job working for owner Christian Petroni at Fortina Pizza. Winner and guest judge on CHOPPED and many more television programs. The culture of restaurant work, and developing outside of my everyday life.
Culinary Abstractions merged the background of working in restaurants with the use of the motif in my fashion work and later on canvas. Incorporating a pattern based on the chef pants seen worn in American industry kitchens.”

For centuries, artists have found inspiration and community in the intimate spaces of cafés, bars, and unconventional venues. From the Parisian cafés of the Impressionists to the bohemian haunts of New York’s Lower East Side, these spaces have served as incubators for creativity and collaboration. Vincent van Gogh, Édouard Manet, and Pablo Picasso found camaraderie and critique in café society. These settings not only challenge the boundaries of traditional gallery spaces but also offer artists a platform to engage directly with a diverse audience. Our upcoming exhibition continues this tradition, showcasing four emerging artists in a café-bar-gallery hybrid. By situating their work in a lively, accessible space, we honor the history of art displayed outside conventional white walls, creating opportunities for connection, conversation, and career-shaping moments. Each artist bringing a unique voice: from abstraction to plein air landscapes, hyper-detailed drawings to expressive works on paper. Together, they reflect the vibrant, interdisciplinary spirit of contemporary art while echoing the legacies of those who came before.
